A proposal has been brought forth to have an "Ancestor Reunion" in September of 2011, the 150th Anniversary of the formation of the 15th Ohio Volunteer Infantry. We need your input if this is to become a reality. First, I believe it would be proper to include the whole brigade. 15th and 49th Ohio Volunteer Infantry, 32nd Indiana Volunteer Infantry, 89th Illinois Volunteer Infantry and Battery A, 1st Ohio Light Artillery plus those units which were a part of the brigade for various times throughout the war. Anyone with an interest in the Brigade may attend. While it is an ancestor reunion, we have many friends who have taken an interest in the Brigade and we would certainly want them to join us!

We need to decide on a date. I am leaning toward September of 2011--after Labor Day--which might make travel easier.

Next, of course, is where to meet. The top two places on our list are Mansfield, Ohio and Chattanooga, Tenn. Both have advantages. Mansfield is closely connected to the regiment and I'm sure we would get a good local turnout and publicity. It has been suggested that a BBQ picnic would be the center point with a "CampFire" in the evening much in the tradition of the old reunions the regiments held.

Chattanooga also has much in its favor. A battlefield bus tour would be the highlight with an evening Banquet. The Delta Queen Steamboat is docked at Chattanooga and has all the facilities we would need.

We are open to your ideas and suggestions. There is much work to done, even though it is two years away. What do you think?
